The Power Stone

also known as The Orb

A purple singularity in a silver ball, and everyone who died reaching for it.

The Power Stone is the only Infinity Stone whose entire origin film is about the object rather than the people who want it — Guardians of the Galaxy is a heist movie where nobody knows what they have stolen. It kills anyone who touches it alone, which is why the Guardians survive by holding it together, and why they hand it to the Nova Corps rather than keep it. Four entries on the sacred timeline, one of which is a time-travel repeat of the first.

    Film · 2014122m

Set in 2014. Peter Quill lifts the Orb from a temple on Morag, and it passes through the Broker, Gamora, the Collector and finally Ronan, who mounts the bare stone in his warhammer. 3. Avengers: Infinity War

    Film · 2018149m

Thanos has it before the first frame. Xandar was destroyed and the vault emptied off-screen, and Thor confirms it in one line of dialogue — the Power Stone is what lets Thanos overpower the Hulk in the opening scene.

  4. Avengers: Endgame

    Film · 2019181m

Rhodey and Nebula travel to Morag in 2014 and simply take the Orb out of the temple before Quill arrives to steal it, which is why they can watch him dancing outside. This is also where 2014 Nebula gets captured and swapped, and the whole third act follows from it.
