Strange arrives late, learns fast, and becomes the character the plot uses whenever the rules of reality need bending. The run is short but load-bearing: he is the one who sees the fourteen million futures, the one who casts the spell that breaks the universe, and the one who has to clean it up. Two of his most interesting versions are in What If, and they are variants, not him.

A neurosurgeon with ruined hands goes to Kathmandu looking for a cure and is trained by the Ancient One instead, then steals the Eye of Agamotto to trap Dormammu in a time loop. He takes over the New York Sanctum rather than return to medicine.
Strange holds Loki in a falling loop while he explains his watchlist to Thor, then relocates them both to the cliff in Norway where Odin is waiting. Roughly one scene, but it is where he learns Thanos is coming.
Strange is abducted by Ebony Maw, runs 14,000,605 futures on Titan, and finds exactly one where they win. He hands Thanos the Time Stone to buy it and tells Tony there was no other way.
Strange opens the portals that bring every returning hero onto the battlefield and then holds back the flood at the compound. He raises one finger at Tony, which is the whole payoff for the previous film.
Strange agrees to erase Peter Parker from the world's memory, lets Peter tamper with the spell mid-cast, and then has to fight him over whether the villains get sent home to die. He is beaten in the mirror dimension by a teenager doing geometry.
Strange protects America Chavez from Wanda across universes, meets the Earth-838 version of himself the Illuminati executed, and dreamwalks a corpse to win. Cumberbatch plays four Stranges here: the lead, Defender Strange who dies in the cold open, Sinister Strange who loses a musical-note duel, and the dead Supreme Strange of Earth-838.

In a timeline where Christine dies instead of his hands being ruined, Strange spends centuries absorbing mystical creatures to break an Absolute Point, absorbs his own good half, and destroys his universe getting her back. Alternate-timeline variant, and the strongest hour the show produced.
The Watcher flees Infinity Ultron into Strange Supreme's dead universe, and Strange is the one who tells him to break his oath and build a team. Short, but it is the hinge the finale swings on.
Strange Supreme hosts the Guardians of the Multiverse in a conjured pub, buries Ultron under a swarm of Mjolnirs, and volunteers to guard the pocket dimension holding Zola-Killmonger forever. Alternate-timeline variant.
Strange Supreme arrives in the final seconds of the 1602 story in the Watcher's place, tells Captain Carter she could use a friend, and says he has a story for her. Sets up the season finale.
Strange Supreme has been feeding beings into a Forge in his Sanctum Infinitum to rebuild the universe he destroyed, and Captain Carter and Kahhori stop him. He restrains his own demons as he falls in. Alternate-timeline variant, and a direct sequel to his season one episodes.
